How to choose your wall decor?
Our website encourages you to ask questions about our products, formats, images, materials and finishes. Each of these elements must be taken into account if you want cohesive decor that's perfectly suited to the room and its function.
- Where should you put my decoration?
- Which product installation method is right for me?
- Which wall decor format suits my needs best?
- Choosing a printed image
- Which material should I choose?
- Which finish should I choose (wallpaper only)?
1 - Where should I put my decoration?
Before deciding on a product, you should ask yourself: where will I put it? First of all, you need to know whether you'll be putting the wall art indoors or outdoors. Then you need to know which specific part of the house it'll be intended for: garden, balcony, kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom...
Your wall decor will need to have different qualities if you're hanging it on a balcony compared to the qualities it will need if you're hanging it in a bedroom for example. This criterion will determine whether you need a particular material or whether it should be waterproof, windproof, etc. The product's intended location also has an impact on its size. It's better to choose a panoramic for your living room and a privacy screen for your terrace, depending on the amount of space available. The location can also have an impact on the type of image you choose to display. If you want to place your decor at the head of your bed, it's best to opt for a decoration where the focal point is at the top of the image.
2 - Which product installation method is right for me?
With our different materials, you can choose between several methods of installation: pinning, gluing, hanging, velcro... Your choice will depend on a number of things, such as how long you want to keep your decoration and the nature of your wall...
Posters are more suitable for pinning and wallpapers are more suitable for sticking. However, all our materials can be pasted or pinned to a wall.
The pushpin is the simplest solution. It can be used with any of our materials and is quick to install.
3 - Which wall decor format suits my needs best?
We offer 65 different formats. Not all of them will be the right one for you. You'll need to make a decision. Here are the different possibilities: panoramic/single strip/fresco/elongated/square/vertical You can select a format from the sub-menu, or from the grid of formats on the left of the product lists. All the images that work with your selected format will be shown within the category you choose.
4 - Choosing a printed image
The image you choose will determine the atmosphere of your room! It's important that the one you choose reflects you and your style. This is the key decisive element, the subjective criterion. Among the stunning, classic images that make us swoon, we also find maps of the world, landscapes of New York, paradisiacal beaches...
5 - Which material should I choose?
We offer 10 different materials and each has its own unique qualities. Some examples are given here below: premium or non-woven paper/pre-glued non-woven paper/textile fabric/tarpaulin
Once you've answered all the initial questions, the right choice of material often becomes apparent on its own. Sometimes, you can choose between 2 or 3. We've put together a comprehensive guide to help you.
6 - Which finish should I choose (wallpaper only)?
We offer two wallpaper finishes: monobloc/single strip. Single strip is the classic finish that everyone knows, where your final wall art is comprised of multiple strips of wallpaper (like a tapestry). The monobloc finish is exclusive to Scenolia. It's one single piece of material on a panoramic, i.e. a 4m x 2.70m wallpaper can be made from just one piece of material. The biggest advantage is that you don't have any visual distortion and there's no risk of the image shifting during installation. For a product of this size, you'll need two people to install it.
